Think of a kubota like a mini tractor almost. Like I said they are slow, and they are heavy and can get stuck easier than a ranger. For some thing kubotas can't be beat and for others they stink. We have owned over ten UTV's of various brands over the past 8 years. If you dump dirt in it, haul wood, pick rocks, run trap lines, spray fence rows nothing works as good as a Kobota, but if you want to run up and down the road 50 mph to impress the neighbors then buy the others. I think the only reason someone would buy a Kobota is that they didn't try something else first. My brother bought a 900 ranger this past spring, have drove it a few times and was very impressed with the ride and power. Jd gator maybe? Edited by 3 M L & C 06:54 I still have a ranger but mom wouldn't let dad get another so that's how he ended up with the kubota. So that part keeps me from going all in on the ranger. One of the 900 we had broke a tie rod end while dad was going down the road and about did him in. We have had several rangers which in general I like. Whopping 8 mph! Also cab is nice on kubota but if your running the ac and have a headwind your only going to get 19 mph. Had to put it in low cause didn't have enough power to go in high. This spring my dad was going to check cows when it was muddy. Tires are terrible and doesn't have enough power. If you ever drive in the mud you will hate the kubota. Parking brake (too easy to drive off and leave on ) Edited by 69zfarmer 05:43 I own a 2015 RangerXP and a 2011 Kubota 1100.I am sorry but I would not trade 2 Kubota's for 1 Ranger.Maybe the newer 1100's with IRS is better I sure hope so.I call the Kubota my extreme weather vehicle.About the only time I use the Kubota is when the ambient temperature is real hot or cold. The cab sure is nice. It will be used for work around his property and a casual trail ride. If I was buying something for hunting or recreation I would get a ranger but for work I will stick with the kubota. They are much faster and have a smoother ride but are not as robust. I love them being diesel it is so easy to fuel them of the truck transfer tank and not have to worry about the five gallon cans of gas. I ain't trying to run a race but that stinks when traveling far. Only complaint really is they are slow but that is a good thing at times with employees driving. They are the newer model 2015's with the IRS and radiator up front. He has two Polaris Sportsmanship and a B2620, so either will fit in. Thinking the Kubota will be more durable over the long haul. His other option is a Fullsize Ranger 900. For those that have one, how hard are you working it? The post below reminded that I keep forgetting to ask.Ī friend of mine is thinking of getting an RTV, with a strong Kubota dealer, he's eyeing up an RTV 1100.
