He was avid supporter of high school sports and also the Ben Lomond/San Lorenzo Valley Alcoholics Anonymous group. He was a graduate of San Lorenzo Valley High School and later served two years in Vietnam. He was born May 16, 1949, in Santa Cruz, the son of Roy and Catherine Sinnott Pagnini. Nation is survived by his wife of 41 years, Karen Lechner sons Sean Lechner of Portland, Ore., and Scott Karla Lechner of Bellingham, Wash. He was a father figure to many young men, his family said, He was a past exalted ruler of the Elks Lodge and served on the board of directors for the Tahoe Beach and Ski Club. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, cooking, craftsmanship and travel. He had worked as a project manager for the Santa Cruz County Redevelopment Agency, and served in the Naval Reserves. He lived in Redding, Eugene, Ore., Santa Clara and Santa Cruz. Lechner was born in North Hollywood and raised in Bishop. 1 in Santa Cruz from complications for lung cancer. Her family said she found beauty in everything from a small plant to large furniture. She was an avid golfer who enjoyed tournaments and earned many trophies. She worked many years for the Oakland Tribune and was a licensed cosmetologist. Nation was an Aptos resident for 18 years. 7 at a Santa Cruz hospital after a long illness. Boze is survived by son David of Washington daughters Mary Lynn, Carol, Cindy, Kathleen, Susan and Julie, all of Washington sisters Evelyn Parsons of Jamestown and Jeanne Bickford of San Leandro 23 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. After retiring from the Seaside Co., he drove the shuttle bus for the Santa Cruz Airporter. He worked more than 20 years for the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and was instrumental in training many future police officers. Boze returned to California in 1971 and became chief of the Seaside Company”s security department. He worked in law enforcement in Salinas before he moved to Washington, where he worked for the Yakima Police Department and as a Washington state trooper and police chief in Tukwila. Boze worked in law enforcement for most of his life. Boze enlisted in the Navy and served four years aboard aircraft carriers during the Korean War. He graduated from Patterson High School in 1948 and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. Boze was born in Anderson, Ind., and raised in Patterson by foster parents. Services will be Friday for Edward Boze, who died Jan.
